Send a Twitter / X handle and get the public profile back as JSON, including name, screen_name, description, followers count and account statistics. It is one REST call with one API key, so you can check follower counts in bulk without an X developer plan. FAQ

How do I get the follower count of an X account?

Call the profile endpoint with the handle. The JSON response includes followers count together with other account metadata and statistics, so one call gives you both the number and the context around it.

Do I need an X developer account?

No. You only send the handle and your API key header. There is no X developer app or OAuth token involved, and no monthly developer plan to buy before your first request.

What is cache_max_age?

An optional parameter that controls how old a cached profile result may be. Leave it out for the default behaviour, or set it when you need fresher data, for example in a daily tracking job.

Does it return the full follower list?

No. This endpoint returns the profile and its statistics, such as followers count, not the list of follower accounts.

Can I look up many handles?

Yes. Call the endpoint once per handle. Each successful call is billed separately, so the cost grows with the number of handles you check.

How do I pay and get my API key?
