The official GitHub REST API does not offer a trending endpoint, so these two endpoints read the public Trending pages for you and return JSON. You get ranked repositories with URLs, descriptions, language and star and fork counts, or ranked developers with their popular repository. Filter by programming language and by time range with the since parameter. There is no HTML parsing or scraper to maintain on your side, and each successful call is billed on its own.

print(r.json())No. GitHub exposes Trending only as a web page. These endpoints read that public page and return the ranked results as structured JSON, so you do not have to parse HTML yourself.
Ranked repositories with public URLs, descriptions, language, star and fork counts and the other fields documented in the endpoint reference.
Yes. Both endpoints accept language and since. The repositories endpoint also accepts spoken_language_code to filter by the spoken language of the repository.
Ranked trending developers with username, name, public profile URL, avatar and the popular repository shown on the Trending page. It accepts the same language and since filters as the repositories endpoint.
GitHub Trending changes during the day, so many users call it once per day or once per hour per language. Each successful call is billed separately, so you control the cost with your schedule.
